Bake Sale December 20, 2008

A huge round of applause for Lynette, Jordan and Sarah who spent a very cold eight hours selling baked goods to benefit LSAR spay/neuter.  Thanks also to all those people who baked the goodies (including Mrs. McCurdy’s students, Lake City Bakery, Safeway, Super-1 and a host of behind-the-scenes bakers), those who bought them and those who donated to the cause.

Battle of the Bands:  Saturday April 5th 2008 Jesikah Clausen hosted a "Battle of the Bands" at Hellgate High School as her Senior Class Project to benefit LSAR animals.  The event was promoted by a poster contest:  the two attached posters were the winning entries.  The posters were created by Willie Carter and Sid LaTray.  Each winner received $25.  Six bands from around the state participated in the afternoon event.  The bands paid a $35 entry fee, with the pot going to the winning band “The Knock-Offs” from Missoula.  Band members are Josh Hungerford, Nick Campbell, Kyle Gray and Brian Gardner. Entry to the event was $5 or a bag of dog or cat food, those proceeds along with the soda pop sales totaling $437.60 will be donated to LifeSavers Animal Rescue.  The soft drinks were donated by Jesikah’s dad, Jeff Clausen Helena who owns Montana Country Distributors.

When  Jesikah was asked why she chose Life Savers for her project, she said   “that she was so impressed with what we do that she was glad to have an opportunity to help.

Well Jesikah, you did help and we appreciate your efforts.  We and the animals are glad that there are caring young adults like you to lend a helping hand!  Good luck in you future whatever road you choose we know you will succeed!
