Lucy Lucy is a 14-year-old blind basset hound. She's lost her family, friends, and home -- everything she knew in her life of darkness -- because unfortunate family circumstances forced her heartbroken family to relinquish her. In today's economy, so many folks are losing their livelihoods, then their homes. So we took Lucy to make sure she had a loving, peaceful and happy last few years of life. Sometimes, even with her hearing impaired, we think she perhaps sees shadows, because she tries to move towards what she thinks she hears. As you can see in the photos, a large hematoma was removed from her ear, and the sutures will be removed sometime after next week (i.e., after March 24th). Lucy is up to date on all vaccinations, house trained, and has just learned how to use our doggie door. She is in the house with me along with our other blind gal, Sophina! Her teeth are sparkly white now, and she smells wonderful after a good grooming and bath. She'll be put on special senior allergy food, because she's itchy. We're trying Nature's Recipe, thanks to a very dedicated sponsor, Doug Dropp: Doug, Lucy sends you oodles of "thank you's"!! |

MAXMax is an older guy, around 7 yrs. Old, from Calgary, who’s needing a new home, along with his lifelong friend Sweets. Pet relinquishment due to financial hardship is something that’s happening all around the United States and Canada, and we’re trying to help out as best we can. Max and Sweets will wonder “Why? What happened?" when they lose their home, so a Basset-privy home will best for him, especially one that’s quiet. Max does prefer the ladies and has been a good watch dog! He’ll be neutered and given all vaccinations, and we’re pretty sure he’s also housetrained.

SWEETSAlso living in Calgary with Max is Sweets, the sweetest lady who loves everyone. We’re trying to keep them together and find a foster or adoptive home in Calgary or nearby. Both Sweets and Max will be spayed/neutered and have all their vaccinations. We assume they’re housetrained, we can get further information from their owner. Both Max and Sweets like children. For more information, please contact: Virginia Oliveira or Janet Naclia, both of whom are assisting with Max’s and Sweet’s re-homing. Thank you to both of these great ladies. Please remember to click on the two names above, not Basset Rescue of Montana.

Lady #2 Look at that sweet natured girl just so happy to meet a stranger!!! We call Lady our Shady Lady cause she is very dark colored. We have 2 Ladies in our shelter at present. Lady came from the state of Texas originally and was adopted thru a shelter in Billings, Mt. We tested her for heartworm and found her to be positive. She has been started on the regime of treatment and had a hard first day of it. But she is in foster care gaining the individual attention and love that she so desperately needs now. She was relinquished into our rescue org. due to her "constant peeing" and we have come to find out she was just scarred. As with allot of abandoned and rescued dogs, submissive urinating is sometimes very common. Otherwise, Lady is very healthy and all systems are go. She is under constant vet care until her treatment is completed. In foster care, she is so happy and is fully housetrained, crate-trained, and loves her foster family. Please consider this worthy girl for a lifetime home of love and tenderness. |

Lacy German Shepherd Dog: SHE SHOULD LIVE IN THE CAPITAL, SHE IS SO VERY PERFECT IN ALL WAYS. Senior rescues are $100. Our main goal is to have them live out their lives in a loving safe home. Arrangements for adoption donations are often made. Lacy and Dozer came in as a bonded pair and will be adopted as a BONDED PAIR. Lacy is a soft quiet loving healthy girl just wanting to enjoy the rest of her years. She loves everyone, all animals, too. House trained and easy going. She is precious .There is always a 2 week trial period of adjustment to make sure our rescue fits into the family well. We strive for finding their "forever and ever homes". All rescues are to ALWAYS be returned to our rescue organization should one have to find another home due to "any" circumstance...that prevents the person/family to keep the pet for its lifetime . . Dukster DUKIE, the Dukester as I call him, came over a long transport from the mid-west shelter. he is one large, heathly, and obedient boy, but has come with some issues we are working on before placing up for adoption. Duke was kicked badly for not minding his human, there fore Duke is still in our "assessment" stage. he made the car rides beautifully and always sat up front looking out the window!! For lots of pics, please just ask. partnersplace@qwest.net UPDATE: A LITTLE LOVING AND CARING TRAINING FROM AN EXPERIENCED TRAINER AND DUKESTER HAS TURNED AROUND AND NOW KNOWS HUMANS LOVE HIM. HE SPENDS TIME IN THE PLAY YARD WITH OUR OTHER RESCUES, AND IT IS AMAZING AND WONDERFUL THAT NOW HE IS ADOPTABLE. HE IS FULL OF TAIL WAGS ALL THE TIME NOW AND MINDS US WITH EVERY COMMAND OF "COME" SIT.....ETC. I THINK A HOME WITHOUT CATS MIGHT BE WISE, SINCE HE DOES HAVE A LOT OF INTEREST IN THEM. MAYBE HE JUST WANTS TO PLAY WITH THEM. |

Ruby WHAT A GRAND LADY RUBY IS AND LOOK AT THAT SILKY COAT! Here is a spayed girl (mother to Bessie) who was just abandoned in a kennel. Both girls are here in rescue and both are just wanting love and affection and to play with toys, and other doggies. House trained, utd, obedient girls, and they of course need patience and understanding since they have been through so much. Update: Bessie has been adopted.

RELINQUISHED due to family not able to care for: 14 year old Dozer is such a perfect hound in every way. Healthy, quiet, gentle, and he came with his life long friend , a German Shepherd named Lacey. I just could not split him up from his buddy. LACY IS A LOVELY HEALTHY SWEET SHEPHERD THAT GETS ALONG WITH ALL HUMANS AND ANIMALS. Please just ask for more pics of each. They must be adopted together.
